You need a PC or a Laptop and the required connectivity tools ,ie.,
Serial/USB cable OR Infrared Device OR Bluetooth dongle

1) Activate Airtel Live! ( It’s FREE so no probs)

2) Create TWO Airtel gprs data accounts (yep TWO) and select the
FIRST as the active profile.

3) Connect your mobile to the PC (or Laptop) and install the driver for
your mobile’s modem.

4) Create a new dial-up connection using the NEW CONNECTION
WIZARD as follows

Connecting Device : Your mobile’s modem
ISP Name : Airtel (or anything you like)
Phone Number : *99***2#
Username and Password : blank

5) Configure your browser and download manager to use the proxy
100.1.200.99 and port 8080.( My advice is to use Opera since you
can browse both wap and regular websites)

6) Connect to the dial-up account. You will be connected at 115.2
kbps (but remember, that is a bad joke).

7) Pick up your mobile and try to access any site. You will get “Access
Denied…”(except for Airtel Live!). IT DOES NOT MATTER.
Keep the mobile down.

8 ) On the PC ( or Laptop) open your browser, enter any address ,
press ENTER and…….WAIT

9) After a few seconds the page will start to load and you have the
WHOLE internet at your disposal.

Create Hidden User Account in Windows

In fact, there is trick to make user account or administrator account that normally been listed on the Welcome Screen to be hidden from view.

In order to hide a user account (which also means create a hidden user account) in Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, just go to Control Panel User module and create an additional user as usually do (Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts in Windows 7 and Windows Vista). If you already have an existing user that wants to be made hidden, invisible or disappeared from Welcome Screen, then go straight to guide below.
Run Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe).
Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis t

Note: If SpecialAccounts and UserList is not found, create new sub-key and name them accordingly.

Speeding up the hard drive

repair a broken USB flash drive

Its quite simple if you know how to soldering and some chip design.
This is not the first time, I break a USB Drive. And I already heard some people complaining about the same stuff. But how is this possible? Even if I use it a lot, memory and micro-controller are robust you know, no special reason for a failure (except of course some anormal write, but this is not the case here)

I decided to open this little key, to look closely. After a quick look, I didn’t find anything. So this little PCB stuff was laying on me desk, and people play with it. After a couple of weeks, I discover the memory chip is simply de-solder. My friend at work play so much with it, the failure is now apparent. Nice no ?

Hum, this little TQFN chip will be hard to solder, that’s right. But this is do-able no ? I tried this with a small soldering iron and here the result:

GPRS is designed for speeds up to 40Kbps only, which is pretty much almost the same as dial-up. That's why its designed for mobile phones only. If you want higher speeds, I suggest you consider mobile phones with Edge tech or 3G. Its way faster than GPRS.

You can also use Mozilla Firefox browser, it's twice faster than IE.

If you are using your phone as an external modem, you can change the speed by going to ;
select Control panel;
click on phone and modems;
Click on your modem;
Select properties;
Click on Modems;
Increase the speed by selecting the drop down list and choose max speed.. ie. 203400 instead of 115200..

Remember your data speed also depends on how busy the network is and what time of day you are downloading..

2 airtel LIVE connections for free gprs

Finally i got it working with 2 airtel LIVE connections also!!!! This is what i did...

1) Created 2 separate WWW proxy server services , One for each of airtel LIVE connections on port 1111 & 1112 respectively. So under gateways i only added one dial up connection (the corresponding one) instead of both. For each www proxy, goto 'connection' and set it to use CASCADED PROXY server and NOT Http Proxy with SSL support and enter airtel proxy details.
2) Then set up wingate DNS resolver to use MO DNS server (202.56.230.5). MO`s DNS server works on airtel LIVE too and only this works and the airtel LIVE dns server 202.56.250.6 did not work.
3) Dialed both connections.... You must dial airtel LIVE apn only on both mobiles. Even Net On Phone apn will not work.... I dunno why.
4) Now on flashget.... Flashget lets us select individual proxies for each download. So i configured 2 proxies on flashget... one on localhost:1111 & another on localhost:1112... (both assigned to HTTP GET method)
5) I didnt configure browser to use wingate proxy coz it didnt make much difference to me, so i left it configured to airtel proxy.
5) Now browse to a site and click on a file to download. When flashget captures link and displays the download properties window, click on advance and select proxy1 and click ok.
6) Now click another file and for this select proxy 2.
7) Thats all, now both the files are downloaded using seperate dialups. My flashget shows speeds between 9 to 13 KBPS which i think is really an upgrade for my slow connection

But I dunno how to make flashget download a single file using both connections. When i configured wingate to use both gateways on a single WWW service proxy, the traffic still only passed thru one connection.

Did anybody else experiment on this? Pls post ur results

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet oriented Mobile Data Service available to users of Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and IS-136 mobile phones. It provides data rates from 56 up to 114 kbit/s.

GPRS can be used for services such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) access, Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), and for Internet communication services such as email and World Wide Web access. GPRS data transfer is typically charged per megabyte of throughput, while data communication via traditional circuit switching is billed per minute of connection time, independent of whether the user actually is utilizing the capacity or is in an idle state. GPRS is a best-effort packet switched service, as opposed to circuit switching, where a certain Quality of Service (QoS) is guaranteed during the connection for non-mobile users.

2G cellular systems combined with GPRS is often described as “2.5G”, that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused Time division multiple access (TDMA) channels in, for example, the GSM system. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that GSM is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM Release 97 and newer releases. It was originally standardized by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), but now by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

Basics of GPRS

WAP is just a gateway used to access Internet via mobilephone and vice-versa. Usually, GPRS data are billed per kilobyte of information transceived, while circuit-switched data connections are billed per second. The latter is inefficient because even when no data are being transferred, the bandwidth is unavailable to other potential users.

The multiple access methods used in GSM with GPRS are based on frequency division duplex (FDD) and TDMA. During a session, a user is assigned to one pair of up-link and down-link frequency channels. This is combined with time domain statistical multiplexing, i.e. packet mode communication, which makes it possible for several users to share the same frequency channel. The packets have constant length, corresponding to a GSM time slot. The down-link uses first-come first-served packet scheduling, while the up-link uses a scheme very similar to reservation ALOHA. This means that slotted Aloha (S-ALOHA) is used for reservation inquiries during a contention phase, and then the actual data is transferred using dynamic TDMA with first-come first-served scheduling.

GPRS originally supported (in theory) Internet Protocol (IP), Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) and X.25 connections. The last has been typically used for applications like wireless payment terminals, although it has been removed from the standard. X.25 can still be supported over PPP, or even over IP, but doing this requires either a router to perform encapsulation or intelligence built in to the end-device/terminal e.g. UE(User Equipment). In practice, when the mobile built-in browser is used, IPv4 is being utilized. In this mode PPP is often not supported by the mobile phone operator, while IPv6 is not yet popular. But if the mobile is used as a modem to the connected computer, PPP is used to tunnel IP to the phone. This allows DHCP to assign an IP Address and then the use of IPv4 since IP addresses used by mobile equipment tend to be dynamic.

Can be connected to GPRS service and GSM service (voice, SMS), using both at the same time. Such devices are known to be available today.
Class B
Can be connected to GPRS service and GSM service (voice, SMS), but using only one or the other at a given time. During GSM service (voice call or SMS), GPRS service is suspended, and then resumed automatically after the GSM service (voice call or SMS) has concluded. Most GPRS mobile devices are Class B.
Class C

Features of 3G
From an end user perspective, the most significant new feature of 3G mobile technology compared with 2G and 2.5G networks is the delivery of wide area wireless data transmission at speeds at or above 384Kbit/s.

In the UMTS family of 3G standards additional features typically also include video calling and “HSPA” data transmission capabilities able to deliver speeds up to 14.4Mbit/s on the downlink and 5.8Mbit/s on the uplink.

From a network operator perspective, a major benefit of 3G mobile technology is that it supports greater numbers of voice and data customers — especially in urban areas — at higher data rates and at lower incremental cost than 2G.

Evolution to 3G
Cellular mobile telecommunications networks are being upgraded to use 3G technologies from 1999 to 2010. Japan was the first country to introduce 3G nationally, and in Japan the transition to 3G was largely completed in 2006. The standardization of 3G evolution is working in both 3GPP and 3GPP2. The corresponding specifications of 3GPP and 3GPP2 evolutions are named as LTE and UMB, respectively. 3G evolution uses partly beyond 3G technologies to enhance the performance and to make a smooth migration path.

There are several different paths from 2G to 3G. In Europe the main path starts from GSM when GPRS is added to a system. From this point it is possible to go to the UMTS system. Advantages of a layered network architecture
Unlike GSM, UMTS is based on layered services. At the top is the services layer, which provides fast deployment of services and centralized location. At the bottom is the connectivity layer where any transmission technology can be used and the voice traffic will transfer over ATM/AAL2 or IP/RTP.

Mobile technologies
When converting a GSM network to a UMTS network, the first new technology is General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). It is the trigger to 3G services. The network connection is always on, so the subscriber is online all the time. From the operator’s point of view, it is important that GPRS investments are re-used when going to UMTS. Also capitalizing on GPRS business experience is very important.

From GPRS, operators could change the network directly to UMTS, or invest in an EDGE system. One advantage of EDGE over UMTS is that it requires no new licenses. The frequencies are also re-used and no new antennas are needed.

As a result, early European WCDMA phones were significantly larger and heavier than comparable Japanese WCDMA phones.

Japan’s Vodafone KK experienced a great deal of trouble with these differences when its UK-based parent, Vodafone, insisted the Japanese subsidiary use standard Vodafone handsets. Japanese customers who were accustomed to smaller handsets were suddenly required to switch to European handsets that were much bulkier and considered unfashionable by Japanese consumers. During this conversion, Vodafone KK lost 6 customers for every 4 that migrated to 3G. Soon thereafter, Vodafone sold the subsidiary (now known as Softbank).
